It Ain't Half Mild, Mum
THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL Grand Theatre, Wolverhampton, Wednesday 29th March 2023 Deborah Moggach adapts her own novel for the stage, a story of British retirees retiring to a ‘retirement hotel’ in Bangalore.  They’re a motley bunch, each with their own reason for leaving Blighty behind.  We see them arrive, have teething problems, settle in, and ultimately fight for the hotel’s survival. …

I completely agree with her. The impulse to cancel people for what they did when they were younger is so unhealthy. The demand for moral perfection upon the average teenager is unrealistic, the average person could rarely win. The English middle and upper class that make up most of those in theatre, tv and film have all been trained on how to speak, how to behave from a very young age so they can fulfil the professional academic and classist language of propriety and respectability. People in positions of power or privilege can so easily direct our attention towards marginalized people so we don't point the finger their way. From my experience in left activist spaces marginalized people seem to get cancelled way more then bigots - even corporations get offered more sympathy and patience.

Buy Attractive Vision Boards as a Gift from Reinvenshen
As a parent, you would want your kids to succeed and have a better life. And for that, it would need more than just motivation and positive affirmations. It means allowing your child to envision their future with a proper plan, goals, and a purpose. And that’s where a vision board can come in handy. Also known as a Dream Board, these boards are meant to give your child space where they can stick and pin their goals and vision. These goals don’t necessarily have to be long-term. Even if your child has some short-term goals such as getting into the debate team, the Dream Board will allow him/her to plan a step-by-step action plan for the same. The Dream board will also allow your kid to visualise their goals and increase their chances of achieving them. And since the New Year is here, getting a beautiful and attractive vision board for your child as a gift would be a great idea. Now, we know that when you will start looking for amazing vision boards for kids, you might be met with disappointment. To save you from this disappointment, we have already done some research and found an excellent online store that has a great collection of vision boards for kids. Reinvenshen is amongst the select few online stores that are dedicated exclusively to bringing the highest quality of attractive and colourful Vision Board kits for kids and adults. Established by Kay Palaz and Shila Iqbal, this online store was started when they struggled to find good and quality vision boards for themselves. This didn’t disappoint them; instead, it gave them the idea of starting Reinvenshen that can become a one-stop destination for anybody to get amazing and quality vision boards for achieving their life goals effectively. The mission of the online store is to provide the best quality of tools that allow people to visualise their goals and manifest them through the Law of Attraction. Apart from kid's dream boards, you can also find vision boards for adults and jars such as affirmations and happy jars. With Reinvenshen by your side, you never have to look any further for tools and boards that help you or your kids to visualise your goals, and manifest them. Reinvenshen wants to take its mission of uplifting people, one step further. They run the “You buy one, We give one” initiative where when you buy a happy jar, they give a happy jar to someone struggling with their mental health. They work with local charities and work towards inspiring positive change. For more information, visit https://reinvenshen.com/

Why are We Letting Irresponsible People Control Communication?
Why are We Letting Irresponsible People Control Communication?
An actress who had only been made a permanent cast member of Emmerdale has been fired over Tweets she posted in 2013 aged 19. Although Shila Iqbal apologised, she was still axed from the show.
Meanwhile, a man was reported recently when he said that an Asian colleague “brought colour to his life”. The colleague in question said she took it in its traditional definition as to “brighten up” whereas…

Wow itv really need to sort out their shit.
They sack Shila iqbal for racist tweets she posted years ago (and apologised for), but a guy from corrie who just apologised for posting sexist tweets gets to keep his job and now they hired someone who's been in prison for spiking someone's drink with ghb.
If Duncan from metro of all people can find that info surely someone from itv would have been able to before they hired this guy??
I don't really like aiesha but I do feel bad for the actress. She's getting screwed over.

Wait so emmerdale have hired a guy convicted of supplying date rape drugs to play a rapist and fired an actress for racist tweets from when she was 18 in the same week? She was immediately terminated over the tweets, is he getting his contract immediately terminated too? What the actual fork?

Shila Iqbal has decided to use hip-hop and rap as a defence against criticism for the tweets she sent at 18 using offensive language.
Just say you hate niggas and ultimately seek white assimilation and go.
British South-East Asians give me a fucking headache. They use political blackness to encroach into black spaces whilst perpetuating anti-blackness,

Sacked Emmerdale star Shila Iqbal says she is "truly sorry" for past tweets as she breaks social media silence
"Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me through this difficult time."
Aiesha (Shila Iqbal) in EmmerdaleITV
Former Emmerdale star Shila Iqbal has spoken out on social media for the first time since her dismissal from the ITV soap, thanking fans for their support.
Shila was axed as series regular Aiesha Richards after racist and homophobic tweets the actress had previously written in 2013 came to light earlier this month.
Earlier this week, Shila appeared on ITV's This Morning to address the tweets, telling Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield that she had made "a terrible mistake", but also questioned whether her axing had been "fair".
"If we do look at the context and the intentions, there was no negative intention behind there. I wasn't hurling abuse at anyone," Shila argued, adding she had never intended any malice.

Addressing her This Morning interview on Instagram, Shila told followers that she was "truly sorry" to anyone who had been hurt by her past tweets, and that she does "not condone" the kind of language she used.
In a post shared yesterday (April 25), she wrote: "Even if I was having a conversation with friends and had no malice behind the tweets, the now mature and wiser me knows that it was utterly wrong of me to do so.
"Also, thank you so much to everyone who has supported me through this difficult time. Thank you to all you wonderful strangers who have reached out and sent messages of support, it means so much."

Life will give you reasons to push yourself further. You will get hurdles that won’t be easy to get over. And, you will feel helpless. seriously when you’re applying for jobs these days all you hear is, check your social media, make sure there isn’t anything on there potential employers might not like. Delete stupid/offensive tweets, don’t use drunk out of your mind holiday pics as profile pics...
and yet this is the third actor in like... 2 weeks(?) that has to apologise for offensive tweets. don’t they get the same advice? don’t itv/bbc check who they hire??
I wonder if this guy will get fired like Shila Iqbal - that seems to be the itv move for offensive tweets made years ago. If he gets to keep his job, they should let her come back. Or they’ll send the message that sexism isn’t as bad as racism. And neither is homophobia according to the bbc.
